Title: Partial view of the city
Description: It is situated between mountains of the Midwest of Santa Catarina, 840 meters high of sea level. Its colonization began in 1923 by families of farmers of Italian origin mainly from Treviso in the south of Santa Catarina, at that time district of Urussanga, Brazil. That trip was made on foot to Urussanga from where they took the train to the port of Imbituba. They proceeded by ship to the port of São Francisco do Sul, and after some days of waiting, they continued the journey by train to Porto União and then to Videira. From Videira they followed on foot, in wagons or rented horses until Encruzilhada. This name was given to the place because it was the crossing of two pathways (in Portuguese encruzilhadas) used by muleteers. Later this name was changed to Arroio Trinta, which refers to the beginning of colonization: to search for food in Videira city, passing through Bom Sucesso, there was need to cross the same small river (in Portuguese arroio) thirty times. This river crosses the city centre and is an affluent of São Bento river. Arroio Trinta city is situated 378 km away from Treviso and 422 km from Florianópolis, State capital.
